DTW (detroit windsor) August 18th, 2013

Trip to Windsor, ON.
Some pics from downtown  Windsor
Reliable Canadian  bus service

Various buildings in downtown Windsor, some of them really nice

Canadian chicks taking a stroll on the river front (going East... I wonder why?)

Lots of concrete...

Ambassador Bridge, built in 1929, connecting Detroit, MI. to Windsor, ON.

I used to live in this building (Ouellette and Tecumseh) between 1996 and 1998
Some images of Detroit taken from the Windsor riverfront
..."Renaissance Center"  which houses some GM operations. Be aware that  in the US  retirement homes bear names like "Sunrise Apartments" while  trailer parks could be called "Whispering Pines" . With that in mind  the RC name for a building in the center of a city which has just declared bankruptcy seems like an appropriate  one

The weather was nice and dry. It is usually hot and humid around this time of the year. It's like living in a greenhouse.
This concludes my DTW post

14" bike with 26" wheels

This is a bike I built from the frame up with some left over parts from other bikes

The frame is aluminium and I put a RockShox fork with 80mm of travel.
The wheels are Spinergy Xyclone 26" with WTB 2.1" tires

The frame is a "no name" from Performance Bike, Easton straight handle bar and Thomson (eccentric)  bar stem
Race Face crankset (32T) w/bashguard
XT Shimano 9 spd. rear cassete
The padals are Nashbar downhill w/very large platforms. A little bit on the heavy side but very practical
What is cool about this bike is the 1X9 drivetrain with Shimano Deore 9 speed rear derailleur and crisp index shifter
The cherry is an italian carbon fiber bottle cage

Modifications to a 19.5" Litespeed Pisgah (2003)

I decided to replace the front shock , an Answer Manitou R7, the XTR V-brakes and the 26" Spinergy wheels with a Niner carbon rigid fork, BB7 disc brakes and 27.5" ZTR Arch wheels
Here is a pic of the whole bike  and some close ups

I modified the front end setup(May 2016).
It is now all Renthal (40 mm offset stem, 740mm wide handlebar and grips). New rear derailleur cable and Fizik Pave saddle...very narrow and stiff.
Here are a few pics:
